What can be blamed on him

The takeover of the South China Morning Post newspaper

In December 2015, Jack Ma bought the South China Morning Post, a Hong Kong daily. This journal is quite critical of the regime. Some observers note that the purpose of this operation is to muzzle the journall. Subsequently, several journalists practice self-censorship and cover too little of the protests against the Chinese government. Finally, Jack Ma denies not intervening in the choices of the editorial staff.

His attachment to the Communist Party

The People's Daily newspaper revealed in November 2018 that Jack Me was a member of the Communist Party. Although it may be surprising for Europe, in China 90 million people are members of the CCP (Chinese Communist Party), or 10% of the working population. Jack Ma, who has a fortune of 35.8 billion according to Forbes, was for the United States the acceptable face of China. However, this announcement surprised them, especially for former President Trump. Jack Ma has always tried to stay in line with the Power Party while keeping his activity. He declared in 2005 vis-à-vis the government: "one can be satisfied to love him, without marrying with him".
