Abraham Lincoln is the 6th President of the United States. Thus, he was president from 1861 to 1865. Unfortunately, he was assassinated in 1865, at the age of 56, during his second term of office. The 6th President is known to have pleaded for the abolition of slavery and to have triggered the Civil War.

What can be blamed on him

 

Lincoln Abraham, known to be the pioneer in the abolition of slavery, has a long history of dealing with the case of the 38 Dakota Indians.

During his first term in office, in 1861, the Minnesota Sioux began a revolt against the settlers for various reasons: in 10 years, more than 150,000 settlers have landed on their territoryThe administrations forced them to pay nine-tenths of their land to white farmers in return for rent. Unfortunately, state-run rents are either absent or in arrears. The Sioux are no longer able to be self-sufficient. because they no longer have enough land to cultivate and hunt and finally, as a result of a bacterium in the plantations, a famine sets in among the people. Hungry and desperate, they will launch a revolt against the settlers that will kill between 300 and 800 people.

The government will arrest 1,000 Sioux and sentence 303 to death. Finally, Abraham Lincoln will reduce the number of death row inmates to 38. Finally, ithey will be hanged in a public place on 26 December 1862.

Later, the settlers would drive the Sioux from their reserve and condemn them to beg for survival.
